On the First Day of Christmas 2014, my true friend gave to me…a hear open to Christ!
Once again we look to the coming of the Christ child; we are drawn to a need for traditions, family, friends and faith. Traditions and holidays are the stuff that binds people together. I trust that the stories, thoughtful quotes and YouTube links supplied in my Nineteenth annual "12 Days of Christmas" E-mail messages will help you and yours keep this Christmas focused on Christ’s coming. I thank in advance my Salt and Light brothers and sisters in Christ and all those who sent in stories and humorous moments of mirth for all of us to enjoy.
As in past years, each message will be archived on my website at http://terrypaulson.com/christmas.shtml
A CHRISTMAS THOUGHT FOR THE DAY… "Our House Is Open, Lord, to Thee"
Come in and share our Christmas tree!
We've made each nook and corner bright,
Burnished with yellow candlelight.
But light that never burns away
Is only thine, Lord Jesus, stay;
Shine on us now, our Christmas Cheer--
Fill with Thy flame our whole New Year!
I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY… “His Light Will Always Shine"
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” –John 1:4-5 NIV
Jennifer and Jason had just purchased a new home week sbefore Christmas. After a long day of unpacking, they decided to take their dog, Marty, for a walk and enjoy the neighborhood Christmas lights.
After passing about ten houses, Jennifer said, “Hey! I’ve not seen a single Nativity scene in the neighborhood.” There were reindeer, snowmen, and plenty of Santa Claus representations but not a single representation of the Christ of Christmas.
Back at the house, Jason pulled out some two-by-fours and attached them in the formation of a cross. “What are you doing?” Jennifer asked. “I’m putting Christ in Christmas for our neighborhood.”
Jennifer held the lights as Jason dug a hole in the yard and positioned the cross in the hole. Then he wrapped all the white lights he could find around the cross. They stepped back into the street to admire the lights. It was simple, bright, and beautiful—and sent a powerful message.
…What are you doing to bring Christ into your neighborhood?

YOUR MIRTHFUL MOMENT OF THE DAY...
A lady lost her handbag in the bustle of Christmas shopping. It was found by an honest little boy and returned to her. Looking in her purse, she commented, "Hmmm, that's funny. When I lost my bag there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty $1 bills."
The boy quickly replied, "That's right, lady. The last time I found a lady's purse, she didn't have any change for a reward."
