Once again we look to the coming of the Christ child; we are drawn to a need for traditions, family, friends and faith. Traditions and holidays are the stuff that binds people together. I trust that the stories, thoughtful quotes and YouTube links supplied in my Eighteenth annual "12 Days of Christmas" E-mail messages will help you and yours keep this Christmas focused on Christ’s coming.
A special thanks to my fellow Salt and Light members who have contributed to making this year's messages an opportunity witness to and serve those they reach as speakers and coaches.
As in past years, each message will be archived on my website at
A CHRISTMAS THOUGHT FOR THE DAY..."A Christmas Revolution"
We’re hanging Christmas upside down this year...
We’re hanging Christmas upside down this year so real love falls out of it.
We’re hanging Christmas upside down this year so no one gets hanged by debt.
We’re hanging Christmas upside down this year because we’re giving the whole Christmas season to Jesus and His Upside Down Kingdom, not just some tossed crusty edge of it.
Because we can feel it — how we’re done with the malls and missing Jesus.
We are done with busy Christmases and brushing past Christ.
We are done with over-stuffed Christmases and we are desperate to give the gift of being overcome by Christ.
You can get tired enough that you’re ready for a Christmas revolution.

I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY..."Picking Up Jesus for Christmas"
"It was a cold stormy Christmas Eve in Fargo N.D. I was a little girl, suffering through the traditional oyster stew supper before we could finally open our Christmas gifts. There was one special package under the tree that looked like the doll I longed for, so I was anxious beyond anxious for dinner to be done!! When....my Father said: "Before we open our gifts, we are going to get into the Plymouth and drive to the Skid Row Section of Fargo. We are going to find an itinerant farm worker who is cold and sober, with no place to spend Christmas, and bring him home with us to share our Christmas."
It was Post-Depression time, gas was rationed, and that alone made this an amazing event...we were taking a ride in the Plymouth. We found the perfect person, and it is THE Christmas gift I most remember....
I never even think of nor remember the doll......but I treasure the person-to-person giving of love and Christ that my Father gave us that Christmas Eve. That memory keeps me focused on the real meaning of Christmas."
-Soli Deo Gloria, Naomi Rhode
Does this not bring to life the words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 25:40 “I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” What better time to "pick up Jesus" than Christmas!
AND NOW YOUR CHRISTMAS MIRTHFUL MOMENT..."The Wish List"
Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents the week before Christmas. At bedtime, the two boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers when the youngest one began praying at the top of his lungs.
"Oh God, I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE."
"I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO 3DS."
"I PRAY FOR A NEW IPHONE."
His older brother leaned over and nudged the younger brother. "Why are you shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf." The little brother shot a scornful glance at his sibling, "No, but Grandma is!"
AND NOW YOUR YouTube CHRISTMAS MOMENT...
Julie Ziglar Norman sent this moving tribute to a mother who planted a memory in her son that years later would reveal that the greatest message the world has ever heard is contained in one simple scale--the Christmas Scale!
Remember, You can find the archived messages from this year's series on my website at http://terrypaulson.com/christmas.shtml. For now, keep focused on Christ--the reason for the season! More tomorrow...as we prepare for His coming!
